Zen Habits October Challenge

Zen Habits website is running an October Challenge to take up a good habit for members of the forum, i’ve selected mine, it will be to do at least 30minutes of exercise per day.

I’ve posted on the forums at zen habits about the habit i’d most like to take up. I have already been doing around 30 mins exercise on days I do exercise,  but I don’t exercise on a daily basis. Generally I can only do it about 3 days a week before I just decide to sleep in again in the morning. Part of that is likely to be the fact that I like to stay up till around midnight most nights and feel like I need the extra sleep come morning time.

As part of this I expect to get a weight-loss benefit, so just for the record this morning I was 80.9kg on my scales. I don’t weigh myself every day, I generally only do it once per week. My weight-loss goal is to reach 75kg by November 24th (South Australian Open State Karting Titles) where having a lighter body weight will be a benefit for me on the track.

There are two things which will help me achieve my goal; one of these is our new exercise bike which we should have tomorrow, and the other is work is hiring a personal trainer for the staff to train with on a fortnightly basis. It would be nice to work with a trainer more often than that, but it’s free for staff so who am I to complain :)

I would like to hire a trainer who will visit me at least 2 times a week which would help immensely; last time I did personal training the results were great even with just 2 x 30 min sessions per week.
